Open mobile platform provides compute, storage and network resources as services to application developers. However, because of the differences between developers, the stability of applications they developed cannot be guaranteed. Authorized applications may exist some abnormal operations like frequent access request and excessive consumption of system resources These abnormal operations may cause system instability, thereby affect other users’quality of service, and may even lead to paralysis of the entire platform. Hence admission control and reasonable scheduling of all the requests are very necessary for the platform stability and worth studying. This thesis first introduces the recent development situation of open mobile platform; describe the importance of the admission control for the platform. Then, based on the theory of Lyapunov drift and Lyapunov optimization, a differentiated service admission control model for the specific needs of open mobile platform is proposed in this paper. This model supports heterogeneous back-end Web cluster, and can distinguish between different types of requests. Then, based on the model, this thesis propose a specific admission control and scheduling algorithm, which can maximize resource utilization and business efficiency, while ensuring system stability. Then a formal proof and some simulations are provided, the result shows the algorithm runs well as expected.Based on the admission control algorithm proposed, this thesis then gives the design and implementation of admission control system on open mobile platform. The whole system divides into two parts, first is the schedule module for request and server type mapping, this module plug in the front-end dispatcher, second is the server status collection and admission control module, this module deploy on the server side. The server status collection and admission control module consists of request access control and schedule sub-module, server status collection sub-module and message transfer sub-module. Then this thesis gives the detailed design and concrete realization of each module. Finally, this thesis describes a brief summary on the research work and give suggestions on further improvement of the system’s performance and scalability.
