The rapid development of Internet technologyhas brought the large number of network businesses, among them multimedia services with its intuitive、vivid features get more and more attention by people, so the demand for video transmission via the Internet is increasing, especially the growing demand for the real-time streaming media transmission, then how to make use of the Internet network to complete efficient streaming video transmission becomes an important issue.To solve this problem, people tried to improve the existing transmission strategiesfrom a different angle.Some people adopt a new network technology, then OpenFlow was put forward as one of the most importantnew network technology to solve the network development.The basic idea of OpenFlow is to decouple the control and data plane of the current network, and centralize the control function, besides the message exchange of the nodes in the network adopt a general functional flow table to meet the demand, and OpenFlowhas excellent characteristics of open, programmable, extensible.Some people adopt a new video coding scheme,the latest international video coding standard is the Scalable Video Coding (SVC) standard which is extension of H.264/AVC, and SVC provides the TemporalScalability Spatial Scalability and Quality Scalability, then SVC can achieve the higher Coding efficiency than previous video coding standard, and be able to better adapt to the heterogeneous network and terminal. Single improvements, however, failed to make streaming video transmission effect achieved significant improvement.So in this paper, for the current Internet streaming media transmission delay sensitivity issues, a delay adaptive method for SVC streaming media transmission based on OpenFlow is proposed. This method combines with SVC streaming scalable and flexible programmable features of OpenFlow effectively.First of all, we use the functions of centralized control of OpenFlow, to complete the network link status real-time detection and information collection, in order to make the controller to obtain accurate network state view and analyze the network environment; Secondly, we implement the SVC streaming video hierarchical adaptive transmission in a dynamic network, by building the base layer and the enhancement layer separate routes under complex network environment with limited network bandwidth and link congestion, and the function modules needed has carried on the detailed analysis and elaboration. Finally, according to the design,we implement the OpenFlow network multimedia business transmission system,then do the comparison experiment between the proposed SVC adaptive transmission scheme and the existing transmission scheme, then through the scene verification and the data analysis of experimental results, we confirmed the transmission strategy proposed in this paper implemented better effect.
