Nowadays, people’s daily lives have been inseparable from the Internet. However, with the rapidly increasing usage of the Internet, the disadvantages of the traditional Internet architecture system has revealed continually. For example, the IP address depletion, network resources utilization, network security issues and so on. Although, these problems above have meet a reluctant solution with some implemention technologies come up, such as IPv6, p2p, CDN. however all these approaches still can not solve these problems by the roots. So the Content Centeric Network is proposed.In CCN, the user is no longer concerns to where to get the data, but only care about what they need, for that CCN has establish a new network architecture with the key element is the content, rather than address. CCN will replace TCP/IP architecture systems which has ruled the Internet for about a half century. In CCN, it has meet a way to get the content you want by a structure of publish/subscribe model. In this way, not only can achieve efficient utilization of network resources, but also fundamentally to avoid some of the existing security risks.However, CCN is only a new borned baby, there are still many areas that need further research. This article is based here, first analyzes the current situation of the Internet, as well as the core problems. And pointed out the CCN is a trend to take the place of traditional Internet. Then we described the CCN in detail, and analyzes some of its strengths and challenges from the key achitecture element. We also indicate some key technologies which the CCN needs dealing with. After that,we made some mobility analysis, pointing out the CCN is particularly suitable for wireless ad-hoc network. Then we start our research from the routing and forwarding strategies, and also caching strategies. We analyzes and compares several forwarding strategies,and designed a new caching strategy. Finally, we use ndnSIM simulator which based on NS-3, and some simulation of the forwarding and caching algorithms have been done. The simulation results show that the algorithms has a considerable performance.
