In recent years, we need to improve the performance of the present wireless communication network to meet the need of the explosive growth trend of demand for wireless communication. Relaying on a kind of wireless communication network deployment has been difficult to meet the growing need. So the deployment trend of the next generation wireless communication network is a complex network, which is composed of many kinds of networks. They have different architectures and different communication protocols. We call this new network as heterogeneous network.However, we should notice the disadvantages of heterogeneous network, one of its questions is how to improve the efficiency of bandwidth resource allocation, and it is a hot research topic at present. In this paper, we discuss about the shortcomings of present bandwidth resource allocation. They result in a situation that users have a low data rate. In order to improve this situation, this paper proposes a new bandwidth allocation algorithm which is based on belief propagation. It takes the diversity need of users into account. The heterogeneous network will allocate a priority to every user according to their communication requirement. Then messages on probability will be transmitted between base stations and users in order to help users to choose the base station which provides the maximum rate. After users make the choice, base stations will calculate the weights of users and allocate the bandwidth to their users according to their weights. In order to meet the practical need, this paper proposes the online mode of algorithm and optimization plan.In the end, we use the simulation experiment to verify the proposed algorithm through the Matlab software. The experimental result shows that this new resource allocation algorithm of heterogeneous network which is based on belief propagation optimizes the bandwidth resource allocation and improves the data rate of users.
