In the mobile Internet era, the terminals which deeply combined with LBS(Location BasedService) will completely change the existing business model and ecology.The outdoor positioning also commercially for many years, lots of valuable positionapplications arised. The requirements for new technology and service from people make positioningtechnology going to indoors. Accurate indoor positioning service which can be used to assistfirefighters, military attack, or find the stores in shopping malls is repeatedly raised. Apple, Googleand other multinational companies, as well as chip manufacturers are constantly struggling to caterto this demand in the chipside. Taking into the high prise of hardware upgraded. This report detailsthe development of an indoor navigation system on a web-enabled smartphone. Research ofprevious work in the field preceded the development of a new approach that uses data from thedevice’s wireless adapter, accelerometer, and compass to determine user position. A routingalgorithm calculates the optimal path from user position to destination. Testing verified that twometer accuracy, sufficient for navigation, was achieved.This thesis first reviews the existing positioning technology in the first chapter. The secondchapter discusses two kinds of hardware, namely the accelerometer and magnetometer, andintroduces the method of measurement in the sampling process. The third chapter discusses theindoor localization step length detection based on smart phones. The fourth chapter discusses theparticle filter and its application in indoor positioning. Software prototype implementation isdiscussed in Chapter V in detail, it contains the software system design, function modules and partof the source code. The seventh chapter is the conclusion.
