Wireless Sensor Networks is a self-organizing network comprised of a large number ofinexpensive wireless sensor nodes, which combines computing, communication technology andsensor technology and it can implement real-time monitoring, sensing and collecting a varietyof environmental or the information of monitoring object through a variety of integratedmicro-sensor collaboration. The information is transmitted in multi-hop networks and sent tothe user terminals so as to achieve monitoring of target region. This makes the wireless sensornetwork a very broad application prospect and attracts much attention of academia the militarydepartments and industry in and abroad.In this thesis, analysis and summary have been done on the current relatively targettracking algorithm and through in-depth study of the target tracking algorithm of wirelesssensor networks. Furthermore, a type of wireless sensor network target tracking algorithm witherror recovery mechanism based on forecast is proposed and improved target tracking accuracyand the network lifetime. These are shown as the following aspects:The localization methods of nodes as well as the target are both using the triangulariterative locating algorithm. Several beacon nodes are selected and by using triangular locationalgorithm for many times, we get the position of the unknown nodes and targets. We alsoconsider the weight of every result to compute them again to get the position information of theunknown nodes and targets comprehensively. Simulation results show that, the accuracy oflocalization is improved.This method could also predict the next target location according to the target velocity,direction and other information. Furthermore, it could wake up the nodes of the region when thetarget is entering the region so as to save energy.When there is a failure in target prediction, the cell predicating the target at the last timecould wake up the nodes of cells around it. Then these nodes could finish the target predicationwhich ensures the accuracy of tracking.
