Wireless sensor network(WSN) is a fusion of physical space and information space, it consists of a large number of low cost sensor nodes that sense signals of environment or specific target/event and aggregate sensing data via wireless channels for distributed signal processing. The WSN has found numerous important applications including target tracking, infrastructure monitoring, habitat sensing, and battlefield surveillance.This study is based on the target localization and tracking application in the network of acoustic arrays. We analysis and achieve all kinds of target localization and tracking application. In terms of target localization, because of the error of measurement has a great influence on the results, we develop and implement the least squares algorithm on direction of arrive; in terms of target tracking, due to the measurement model is nonlinear, according to the principle of Bayesian, we develop and implement the kalman filtering algorithm, extended kalman filtering algorithm; in terms of multiple target tracking, we develop and implement the joint probabilistic data association algorithm. All algorithms is verified with actual data.This System is developed in VS 2010 and SQL Server 2008 R2. in terms of network communication, we choice the C/S model and combining multi-threading network programming technology achieve the communication between the Server and each sensor; In terms of database, we using SQL Server set up a sound signal database, software platform can manage the experiment parameters and the acoustic signal data, including storage, modify, delete and other operations; In terms of display, we achieve 3 d visualization display based on OpenGL. Finally, we develop a three-dimensional acoustic array target locating and tracking platform, it has database, characteristic library and algorithms library library.
