Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B) system as a newsurveillance system in low-altitude is adopted by many countries to realize thelow-altitude surveillance, wide coverage, low cost and free flight. ADS-B system iscomposed of ADS-B airborne system and Ground–Based Transceiver (GBT) system.Ground-Based Receiver (GBR) System is a part of the GBT system. The ADS-Binformation of GBR system sent from airborne ADS-B system is processed anddisplayed in GBR ground interface. The traditional GBR system has severaldisadvantages such as expensive cost, large volume and inconvenient operation. As theconsideration of user operation, it is necessary to transform GBR system into smallportable device for designing a miniature and integrated GBR system. The softwaredesign of GBR system and the design of embedded GBR system which is combiningwith embedded technology are elaborated in this paper.Linux operating system is adopted to build the software platform of embeddedGBR system. The embedded GBR system software is designed by the reception anddecoding of GBR system software and the design of user interface. The ADS-Binformation of1090ES data link is received and processed in the embedded GBRsystem. The1090ES data send from aircraft can be accurately recognized in theembedded GBR system by decoding and processing of system software. Because theLinux system has many characteristics, it will save a lot of cost during developingembedded GBR system. The Quasar Technologies (Qt) and Qt Embedded is used todevelop system software platform, and it attains the map drawing by Graphics Viewframework, database management and layout of user interface, etc. It is finallycross-compiled on the ARM platform to realize display function of aircraft ADS-B data.The embedded GBR system software takes up less resource, and it can be easilytransplanted to other embedded platform. According to the test of different platforms,the embedded GBR system software meets requirement of different platforms. Aircraftposition and marked position in Google map is almost unanimously by test of longitudeand latitude. The ADS-B message is received completely, and aircraft track is displayedclearly by test of aircraft track. According the test of latitude/longitude and flight track,the design of embedded GBR system has high accuracy of positioning and stability ofreceiving system.
