With the rapid development of economy, the demand of agriculture, industry,commerce and resident for electricity is also growing. Power supply enterprises mustaccelerate its development to provide high quality and reliable power to the society, toensure that the development of power grid is appropriately faster than economy tomeet the growing demand for electricity. In this context, power supply enterprisesstrengthen the power grid construction constantly to promote the capacity of powersupply. What followed is that enterprises scale expands gradually, grid structure isbecoming more and more complex, and power grid equipment increases largely whichbring challenges for the enterprise materials management.With the rapid development of information and system, power supply enterprisesare exploring the construction and application of the materials managementinformation system constantly to improve materials management level and reduce thematerial management cost. It is crucial for the construction of materials managementinformation system that system meets the requirements of the relevant businesssystem and management and at the same time has the humanized operation interfaceto achieve the purpose of improving work efficiency. However, because there is nothorough investigation for instruction demand, operators’ participation is not high, andthe integration of material is not implemented, the current system only has the simplefunctions, such as demand declaration, warehousing and distribution and query. It isunable to fully solve the problems, such as the demand forecast, supplier management,bidding management, lack of warehousing and distribution function, and curing therequired management reports etc. If find the right solution, build a perfect powersupply enterprise materials management system, and develop the function module ofthe whole process of power supply enterprise materials management, it will have agreat help for further improving the materials management level of power supply enterprises, have great influence on promoting the power grid construction andproduction maintenance, and have a huge social responsibility to light up the colorfullife for electricity customers. Therefore, it has great practical significance to build theperfect power supply enterprise materials management system.This paper is mainly to solve the problems in three aspects:Firstly, we introduced the most popular development model, Comparing theadvantages and disadvantages of B/S&C/S, and then we choose B/S model for thisinformation system to adapt to the development of internet technology. Secondly, thispaper investigates deeply on power supply enterprise materials management, extractthe information demand of materials management, use the software engineeringtechnology to build modeling for the functional requirements and business logic of thesystem. Thirdly, design and implement the power supply enterprise materialsmanagement information system based on B/S architecture.The system covers the whole business processes of materials management, suchas the planning and demand forecast, purchasing and supplier management,performance and quality control, warehousing and distribution, reverse logisticsmanagement etc. and provides efficient and convenient integrated query and statisticalfunctions. The construction and application of the materials management informationsystem improves its level of power supply enterprise materials management greatly,promotes power supply reliability and improves customers’ satisfaction indirectly.With the further extension and perfection of system, it will bring huge economicbenefits for enterprises.
