Agricultural drought disasters is one of the important factors affecting agricultural productionand restricting farmers’ income. Our Country is a large agricultural country, and meanwhile, isheavily affected by drought. Therefore, to improve the timeliness and accuracy of agriculturaldrought monitoring directly relate to reasonable arrangements for agricultural production and thetimely processing of agricultural drought problem. Traditional agricultural drought monitoring needto point measurement, which consumes more financial, material and human resources, and has a lackof real-time.In recent years, the development and application of Remote Sensing technology in theagricultural drought monitoring make up for the lack of the traditional agricultural droughtmonitoring methods, and provide data and basis for agricultural production and manual interventionof agricultural drought. Crop drought mainly because of the ambient humidity is less than themoisture of crop need, and it can’t replenished in time. The surface temperature affect evaporation.crop moisture determine the needed moisture, and vegetation index is an indicator of its biomass.Therefor, surface temperature, vegetation index and plant moisture content are good indicators ofcrop drought conditions. This paper monitors agricultural drought in Henan Province through MODIS and TM RemoteSensing image data and technology, which use surface temperature, vegetation index and vegetationwater content to construct drought monitoring model to determine the degree affected by water andverify its accuracy. Finally, the model is used to determine the drought conditions and drought levelsof corps, and provide information and services for reasonable arrangements for the future ofagricultural production and giving timely manual intervention in order to reduce the loss caused bydrought.
