With the rising of the modern communication quality requirement, the mobilecommunication at anywhere and anytime is becoming one important part of the dailylife. Now mobile communication is the fasetest growing and most active field afterthe revolution from wire to wireless and voice to multimedia. At the same time, thesubscriber mumber of mobile communication is growing rapidly because of theconvenience. So only the quality of mobile communication becomes better andbetter and the capacity is larger and larger, the requirement can be satisfied.With the increasing demand of data communication and multi-media, thebuilding of4G mobile communication system is needed,4G combines3G andWLAN, and transmits high quanlity video images, which is about the same withhigh-definition television. The download speed of4G is about100Mbps, and theupload speed can be20Mbps also, so4G can satisfies almost all reauirements ofwireless communication. As the access device of a mobile communication, thequanlity and performance of antenna decide the perception and experience of thesystem, so it is important to study base station and terminal antennas.The antenna technology of4G mobile communication system is analyzed indetail, the MIMO system used in4G mobile communication system is studied, andthe diversity technique and base station design scheme are discussed.One kind of terminal MIMO antenna used in4G mobile communication systemis designed in this paper, which has the features of small size and well diversityeffect, HFSS is used to simulate every indexes of designed antenna, and some important parameters are be optimized.
