The traditional information searching technology is hard to capture the exact userdemand. This technology, although having taken into account the complexity of semanticsearching, is based on ontology which has compelled the users with a searching grammarhard to master. Innovation is the key issue in an ethnic progression. Applying scientificknowledge can efficiently help the designers to innovate. But as the quantity and fields onsuch knowledge are infinite, designers need to search among these to acquire inspirationfrom other domains. Semantic searching can break the walls between different domains soas to make the searching more flexible and applicable. This thesis analyses the characteristics and shortcomings of the current informationsearching system. In order to bridge the gap of target information and keywords amongstvarious subjects, this thesis applies ontology as a supporter of scientific applicationknowledge. The focus of this thesis are as follows:1. Through the analysis of a mass quantity target users searching habits and theirinputted phrases, discovery has been made about the phrases which are normally simplestructured verb+object phrases. Therefore, the structure of the ontology are mainly the"effect" and the "stream".2. According to the user searching habits and the application knowledge on chemistry, the author has put forward a semantic searching technique reflecting searching by naturallanguage to applying ontological knowledge. The author also proposes a functionalsemantic and syntactic structure applying rely on the grammar use to the semantic analysis.3. Establishes a chemical scientific application knowledge database using protégé,with the combination of vast opinions from experts in different fields to form a set ofrelationships among concepts.4. Applies the Java language to actualize the prototype and deduction of knowledgelinked, which can result in finding the content which contains the semantic informationfrom the inputted language.
