With the development of the economy and the improvement of living standards,people’s demand for meat products accelerated the development of animal husbandry inour country. The breeding industry of the sheep, in particular, has become one of the mainsources of income for nomads in the Inner Mongolia region. Along with the rapiddevelopment of the sheep breeding industry, the events of the stealing for sheep occurfrequently, how we prevent the sheep better is a pressing problem.The sheep anti-theft warning system based on RFID and GPRS is designed to solvethe stealing sheep events. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a noncontact automaticidentification technology without human intervention and saves a lot of manual operation.General wireless grouping service (GPRS) is a data processing technology with high speedand high-efficient, which can send data without the geographical constraints. Therefore,the anti-theft warning system for sheep combined with RFID and GPRS, which not onlyprevent the thief to steal the sheep, know the information of sheep, but also protect thesafety of the sheep, reduce the investment of manpower and material resources andimprove the efficiency of the manager.First of all, the paper introduces the background and important of the research and thedevelopment of the anti-theft system. The warning system is analyzed and designed on thebase of the survey for Inner Mongolia breeding industry of sheep. the paper surveys thekey technology of the RFID and GPRS, introduces the system composition,operatingprinciple of RFID and introduces the network structure and feature of the GPRS.Secondly, the design of the hardware and software for the system was introduced andPC software and the information database of the sheep are designed in this paper. thesystem is composed of the test sites and the monitoring center, the test sites are t hecommon intersections or key levels which grazes the sheep and leave the grasslands.STM32microcontroller as the important controller, the RFID module collects theinformation of the sheep and the GPRS module is in charge of remote monitoring of the sheep. The monitoring center design the information management of the sheep and theanti-theft warning system software based on the VC++6.0platform and SOL Sever2008database, which mainly introduce inquiry, statistics and warning function of the sheepinformation.Finally, completing the design of hardware and software, this paper tested thefunction of each module and verified the function of the RFID and GPRS module, theinformation management of the sheep and anti-theft. The actual test results show that thesystem has a well effect in early warning and easy to operate, maintaining, which meet therequirements of the user. The system not only has broad application prospects in theanti-theft for the sheep, but has important significance in anti-theft warning of other animalhusbandry.
