In recent years,"On-The-Move" technology has been developed rapidly.“On-The-Move" means the ground satellite station communication system witch is onmoving ". Through “On-The-Move" system, satellite platform could be real-time tracked bythe vehicles, ships, aircraft and other mobile carriers and the voice, data, images and othermultimedia information could be transmitted continuously. Compared with the fixedcommunication system,“On the move” technology has strong flexibility, strong survivalability, strong adaptability and other advantages. The mobile satellite communicationsystem based on phased array antenna technology could overcome the disturbance of carrier.Antenna beam center could always accurate pointing the satellite even if the carrier is invery rough conditions movement. Therefore, phased array antenna technology providesimportant technical supporting for the mobile satellite communication system.This paper has studied the application in the "On-The-Move" phased array antenna andthe array mutual coupling calibration technique. First, In the background of K band"On-The-Move" application, the broadband and dual circularly polarized microstripantenna cell witch meets the requirements is designed and the array layout is planning.Second, The array layout within100mm witch meets the K band satellite communicationperformance requirements is presented, and the simulation results are presented. Finally,The influence of array element pattern for array scanning performance is studied, and theantenna aperture weighting technique is discussed. The influence of phase shift stepprecision for beam step degree and beam pointing accuracy degree is analyzed. Thecalibration method of digital active phased array antenna is studied. Mutual couplingcalibration method for the “On-The-Move” phased array antenna is presented.
