Design And Implementation Of The Two Tiered System For China DTV Media Program Platform

With the rapid development of digital television in recent years, the content ofTV program has become increasingly abundant, and the functions have also becomemore powerful than before. DTV is changing human’s life style gradually. CDM(China Digital Media) Program Platform was invested by CCTV, authorized by theState Administration of radio film and television. This Platform is the integratedoperation center for Pay-TV in China, which mainly contains integration, encryption,and user administration.Now, the business of CDM has covered the whole country. However, becausethe local program platform adopts different technologies to encrypt and decrypt thetransmission, it is difficult for CDM to access the program and administrate terminalusers, so as to they could not get the exactly data from users. Due to this concern andbased on the premise that the original secure system can be guaranteed, upgraded thesystem to a two-tiered system, because this contributes the effect of reception equaland joint management. The advantages of charging accuracy, authorized independentand household controllable can be achieved finally.CDM program platform mainly contains two parts as below, which is also themain points of this thesis:1、Conditional Access System (CAS),CDM increased two-tiered CA modulebased on original four CASs. The two-tiered CA system refers that CDM and localprogram platforms adopt the same CAS, implement twice encryption and decryptionand set or authorize IC cards as a result of reception equal and joint management.2、Subscribers Management System (SMS),SMS is mainly responsible for thebusiness request of processing authorization, user’s information storage and orderinformation. Two-tiered system module, one of the major technologies is thetwo-tiered user management system, which satisfies the requirement andimplementation of CDM operation pattern.Two-tiered system is one sophisticated system engineering with varioustechnologies, and it will have continuously improvement along with the developmentof technologies.
