Named Data Network (NDN) is a project researched by the UCLA team led byLixia Zhang and funded by the NSF Future Internet Architecture (FIA). It iscommitted to the development of the next generation of content-based Internetprotocols and bottom architecture. TCP/IP architecture gradually revealsinadaptability. The basic mechanism is using names content instead of naming host, and caching content through the routers, finally transforming facing the host intocontent. This paper first introduced the proposed background of Named Data Network, discussed the NDN architecture, design goals, working mechanisms, cachingstrategies and routing policy research, and cited the NDN current research focus andapplications. Then it introduced the broadcast TV network stream media, combinedNamed Data Network theory and broadcast TV network. Taking advantage of NDNcontent caching and routing mechanism, some bottlenecks can be resolved, such as,security, bandwidth and latency, video transmission protocols and video streamingcaching. Then this paper introduced ndnSIM simulator based on NS-3platform. Onthis basis, combining with the actual situation of broadcast TV network, it designedmultiple network topologies, to prove network applications and strategyimplementation of NDN.This experiment is to simulate a wide area of the broadcast TV network, designing some special types of topologies and then simulating tests, to verify NamedData Network caching policy and forwarding strategies. Then it designed anintegrated topology to test its transport mechanism and verify the feasibility ofNaming Data Network in the broadcasting network applications. Throughexperiments and studies, it has proved the cache function of the NDN router, which isone of the advantages of NDN architecture and necessary condition for the applicationin broadcast TV network. |
