The millimeter-wave and submillimeter-wave technology in areas such asindustry, medicine, astronomy, security and national defense has great and extensiveapplication value, cannot be ignored. Compared with other frequencies ofelectromagnetic wave, it has unique advantages. Mixer is an important component ofmillimeter wave and submillimeter wave receiver. It has widely used in many fieldssuch as communication, radar, remote sensing technology and spectrum detection.A Schottky diode mixer was designed in130nm CMOS technology in this paper.The down converter circuit includes two main parts: APDP and180°hybrid based onthe complementary conducting strip transmission line. As the Schottky diode hasexcellent high frequency characteristics, thus can be used as a mixer under millimeterwave. This paper presents a two-dimensional transmission line that supportsquasi-TEM propagation mode and reduce problems associated with compactedmeandering of microstrip on propagation constants and the characteristic impedancescommonly observed in conventional one-dimensional MS. The180hybrid based onCCS TL realized the function of addition and subtraction between LO and RF signal.In this paper,three kinds of product mixer based on rat-race coupler andSchottky diode working at different LO signal frequency (94GHz,142.5GHz,340GHz) were designed. Results of simulation show that the proposed mixer working atdifferent frequency (94GHz,142.5GHz,340GHz) respectively achieved conversionloss of16.5dB,16.9dB,21.2dB with local-oscillator power of0dBm and achievedconversion loss of14.4dB,14.1dB,15.6dB with local-oscillator power of10dBm.
