The measurement of the angle of bifacial straight lines in large space plays avery important role in the assembly of rocket projectile. The measurement scheme inthis paper establishes a reliable contact between two uncommitted measurementcoordinate systems by using a reliable laser to build a reliable public benchmark forthem. It takes advantage of visual detection technology and image processingtechniques to measure the angle between two straight lines.The bifacial straight angle measurement platform for image processing currentlyexisted on the market is PC platform, which acts slow and bulky. It is a big problemto meet the requirements of real-time measurement in a narrow measuringenvironment. Therefore, it has becoming an important research orientation to developa portable embedded system with real-time response used as a digital imageprocessing system.Embedded systems on the market at present are rather expensive. Besides, theirbig sizes are hard to satisfy the on-site measurement requirements. Therefore, a newembedded system is designed in this paper to process the digital images.Based on previous researches, the design of embedded systems based on FPGAand DSP realizes the applications of the measurement of the angle of bifacial straightlines in large space. The specific contents of work in this paper are as follows:(1)This design based on FPGA and DSP has developed a new image datatransmission interface by using innovative ideas, which has realized seamless datacommunication and lays the foundation for further image processing.(2) This paper has developed various types of image preprocessing algorithmsincluding the effective image data extraction, median filtering, adaptive thresholdingprocessing and edge extraction in FPGA. The paper also has proved the accuracy ofthese algorithms after functional simulation and experimental validation.(3) The design has realized the main algorithm of angle measurement on DSP.(4) The design has built a platform to verify the embedded systems used in themeasurement of the angle of bifacial straight lines in large space.Experiments showed that the embedded system could achieve real-time accuratemeasurement of the tilt angle of light with good portability. The design can meet the targets of the measurement of the angle of bifacial straight lines in large space verywell.
