In order to adapt to harsh field conditions (such as instant strong current shock,strong magnetic field interference,etc.)and further improve the efficiency ofmeasurement, a highly reliability of the BIW(body in white) visual inspection stationcontrol system network under the welding condition is needed. Besides, according tothe requirements of the measurement,the system not only has the ability of real-timemonitoring and data processing,but also has good openness, that are convenient forstaffs to modify and debug. In accordance with the above requirements, in this paper,based on analysising the control method and measurement needs of the control systemnetwork, the hardware platform of sensors micro-controller and communicationmodule,which is between the controller and measuring computer, are designed, and acontrol network of BIW fixed visual inspection station based on own protocol is built,a reliable control of measuring computer to visual sensors is achieved. The last yearapplication at the scene of body in white measurement has proved that this controlsystem network can meet the needs of BIW Visual Inspection Station for long andreliable working at the environment of welding.The main works of this paper are summarized as follows:1. For the needs and applications of Body-in-White visual inspection station, thecontrol system network’s design requirements, the meaning of the system andpurpose of the study was put forward.2. In view of the requirement of the control system network, the designing schemeof the control system network of BIW fixed visual inspection station based onown protocol was completed.3. To break the application limitations of the original PIC18series microcontrollerby Microchip,the design and improvement of the hardware system based onARM7core was completed.4. Based on understanding the composition and principle of its ownprotocol,studied communication principle and method of this system based on itsown protocol as well as the concrete implementation process. Meanwhile studiedsuch as the error handling mechanism and the automatic retransmissionmechanism to ensure the reliability of communication system. 5. Through the experiments of communication and control capability, the controlsystem network of the Body-in-White visual inspection based on own protocolwas tested and authenticated.
