With the rapid development of petrochemical industry, oil purity is more andmore important.From the collection to be used, crude oil requires a lot of purificationprocesses. The initial treatment is usually deal with water or steam which be mixed tocrude oil by condensation and sedimentation, and then workers release the bottom ofthe water tank.Currently video surveillance technology and image processing technology isdeveloping rapidly, while DSP as the core hardware systems for image processing,toachieve a variety of digital signal and image processing algorithms. By way of imageprocessing, and video monitoring to achieve dehydration tank, the tank can bedehydrated to achieve real-time monitoring and automatic control.According to the requirements in monitoring the oil tank dewatering, we shouldacquise the video image to achieve the aim that machines cut water tanks inreal-time.We design a video image capture and transmission system based on DSPchip.This system would have completed video image acquisition and imagetransmission, and for image edge detection.The image processing results will be forthe analysis of the actual tank dewatering industrial applications and implementation.The paper discusses a framework for designing DSP image acquisition andimage processing system and its implementation.The concept design includeshardware circuit design and hardware platform.The details include the design of thehardware part of the image acquisition board, the DSP minimum system, an imagestorage module and the image transfer module, the video image capture module, thetransmission module, the storage module,and how to set up the image processingsystem.The key is its external power supply module, the video image input interfacecircuit and the video output interface circuit design.The system can be used to monitor the oil tank dewatering, with goodeconomic returns. Meanwhile, the system can be flexibly modified image processingalgorithms to achieve a variety of image processing requests, and could be adapt tospecific needs and high image processing requirements occasion.
