Dating shows, as an important form of television shows, have been developedvigorously since the initial developments in1980s. The triumph of the television showIf You are the One, which was broadcasted by Jiang Su Television in2010, stirred thetrend of Dating Shows among Television Stations, introducing blind dates to thesociety. Through the success of the Dating Shows, the audience rating and economicbenefits increased. At the same time, the Herding behavior exists in the process thatother Television States follow the program If You are the Only One. The thesis is goingto analyze Dating Shows within the theory of the Herding Behavior in a systematicway.The thesis consists of three parts. By clarifying the definitions, the classificationsand the reasons of the production of the Heading Behavior, the first part attempts to laythe basic foundation of Dating Shows. The developmental process and current statesverify the Herding Behaviors by figuring out the correlation between the theory ofHerding Behavior and current generalization of Dating Shows. Form that, features ofDating Shows are established. The second part is vital to the thesis. In this part, theauthor of the thesis relates the theory of Herding Behavior and current modernTelevision Industry developmental stages, analyzing reproductive reasons and effectsof Herding Behaviors in Dating Shows. The analysis of herding behavior effects of theDating Shows are achieved from Television media, the program, and the audience. Thethird part is to provide solutions to the problems about the effects of Herding Behaviorof Dating shows.The systematic analyses of the Herding Behavior of Dating shows reflect thelogic behind the success of Dating Shows from various perspectives. The effects of theHerding Behavior towards Dating Shows are illustrated, thus responsive measurements which could be used to avoid negative influences and to improve the level of theprogram are provided. That would contribute to the theoretical innovations andpractical applications. At the same time, the Herding Behavior of Dating Shows is inneed of the attention of scholars and participants in Television Industry to facilitate thecontinual development of Dating Shows in our country.
