With the deepening reform of electric power system management system, regulating the integration and further promote the integration of operational mode, monitoring personnel not only need to be monitored around the substation and site conditions, at the same time need to control substation comprehensive production equipment safety operation, site environment and safety state, by analyzing the information of all kinds of auxiliary transformer substation, judgment, make the regulation of power grid is more safe and reliable. This paper estabiished a complete set of substation remote visualization operation and equipment patrol system, commissioning, acceptance and put into operation, to achieve the equipment of substation secondary equipment appearance and running state of real-time monitoring, timely feedback of substation equipment running status information, as the staff analysis condition and take measures to provide great convenience, at the same time, also for the safe and stable operation of power system provides a reliable guarantee. In this paper, the design of video monitoring system mainly realize the visual operation, intelligent image recognition, transformer on-line monitoring, environment monitoring data of infrared ray imaging system access, security guard, fire alarm, intelligent linkage events such as function, effectively solve the traditional auxiliary facilities and equipment state information not fully linkage, the deficiency of the system with the system timely recording equipment status, timely reflect the running status of equipment, provide reliable data for the safe operation of the equipment status analysis foundation.
