The rapid development of communication technology has brought unprecedentedopportunities, as well as tremendous challenges to scientific researches performed bymany scholars. The wireless communication technique is a major leap forward for theworld’s communication technologies, in which the path loss is the most important researchfocus that is in support of this technology. To ensure normal communication, before theplanning of wireless communication network, we should regard path loss as the mostimportant restrictive index that must be solved in top priority.Though, there exist many kinds of path loss at present. however, all of them aredefective, among which, Okumura-Hata, the one with comparatively comprehensive signalchannel parameters and more correction factors for signal channel, though restricted bydistance, is a relatively complete path loss model in the early period. The classiclogarithmic model also relies on distance and moreover, it has complex and changingsignal channel parameters. A path loss model with no reliance on distance will solve thedisadvantages of those traditional models. This paper proposed a path loss algorithm withno reliance on distance and fixed signal channel parameters on the basis of the defects oforiginal models represented by distance restriction and complex yet changing signalchannels. The conception that regards the distance between two points indoor as astochastic variable has solved the distance-reliance issue for traditional models. Throughthe introduction of indoor communication density to eliminate the uncertainty of signalchannel parameters, the newly established model has achieved a good effect.A large number of path loss models have been discussed in this paper. Despite some ofthe path loss models have been successfully applied to the wireless communicationnetwork, all the models are restricted by factors such as distance, complex parameters, etc. With respect to the distance limit for traditional algorithm, we consider the communicationpath between the two communicating parties as a stochastic variable for the distancebetween the two points, and by computing the statistic, we transform the distance betweenthe communicating parties to a function that only in relation to the size of the room.Meanwhile, the introduction of indoor communication density will eliminate theuncertainty of signal channel parameters by adjusting the taking of values forcommunication density. The major innovation of this paper lies that we can compute the path loss even though we don’t know the communication distance. Disadvantages oftraditional logarithmic model, such as the incomplete coverage, uncertainty, etc will becorrected by newly introduced communication density. In the process of building up a path loss model with no requirement on distance, inorder to verify the newly established algorithm, we adopt three kinds of indoor operationspace to build up the model, namely the square, round and rectangle space. We use thesimulation software to verify the newly built model after the selection of a properoperational space size and indoor communication density. The result of simulationindicates: without knowing the distance, not only the path loss estimated by the use of thisalgorithm is basically in consistent with that of traditional models, but also has less error. In case of having no high demand on network communication, we can adjust the path lossby the selection of different confidence coefficient. Therefore it has a good expandability.
