In the digital era, the development of goods which can attract the user’seyeballs and have got higher value in research is not only confined to theappearance design or functions. Prominent designs can motivate the user’s use,improve customer’s satisfaction, respect user’s ideas and demands, makeproducts bring more profits for the enterprise, and so on. For this reason, thisdrives the principle of “user-centered design” to be widely spread in the area ofdesigning.The research on user and user experience is to better realize thehuman-computer interaction, to promote the development of interface design.The innovation points of this thesis are to combine the user’s emotion withcognition to guide the interface design. Started from the user’s emotion andcognitive style, the interactions of the man-machine emotion are involved,inclusive of such analysis as the user’s facial expression, body behavior,physiological signal and text output. In the side of the user’s cognition, thisthesis focuses on several factors like the user’s cognitive level, pattern andcharacteristics. Through the investigation of the user’s emotion and cognition,these emotional factors and visual elements are consolidated in the interfacedesign, having the users enjoy a more natural and humanized experience.This thesis mainly deals with the following:(1)The contents of learning Chinese for the children under the age ofseven are summarized, analyzed the characteristics of children with differentages and the learning contents are divided into the levels.In line with the stage prior to seven, the children start to learn and masterthe basic use of Chinese. Through interviewing, consulting several kindergartenteachers and parents, the author figures out the situation of learning Chinese ofchildren, do the notes and sum up the children’s learning contents, mainlyincluding Chinese characters, words, idioms, Tang poetry, poems of the song dynasty, a two-part allegorical saying, stories and rhymes.(2)Through reasonable investigation, analyzing the children’s cognitiveability and emotional characteristics are analyzed, thus better steering theinterface design.It is well known that children’s cognitive ability is limited,so the interfacedesign has to adapt to the children features, making the interface design assimply as possible. That is, the designs and problems cannot be considered orsolved from the designer’s points of view. Designers need to try their best to getrid of the limitations in designing in accordance with user requirements ratherthan the designers. In addition, the author finds out that the survey of target usersshould deploy in terms of the actual situation. In this discussion, the users aretargeted to the children under the age of seven. However, these children are tooyoung to express their feeling. So, the two relevant groups are chosen,kindergarten teachers and parents.Through formulating the reasonable learning tasks for user target, on thebasis of children’s cognitive ability, the emotional elements are used to guide theconcrete practice of interface design. Combination of children’s cognitive ability,cartoon characters with learning contents, conforms to children’s cognitive ability.Regarding the emotional expression in interface, the children’s facial expressionis gathered, and their feeling state is figured out. A suitable color for children tobe readily accepted to express the feelings with positiveness upward. Moreover,the interactive aspects between interface and children are scored. Backgroundmusic and handwriting page are added, thus making children better involved inthe use of website.(3)Through code language and visual design, the construction of thewebsite “Baby Learning Chinese” is implemented.Being primarily static, embedded Javascript, the website is featured by theconvenient updates, the flexible form and the intuitive feel applicable to childrengroup. Besides, these webpages can also be browsed online by others, no matterwhat types of computers or browsers, which provide the convenience for users.Visual design chooses cartoon images as a guide in accordance withchildren’s cognitive characteristics. According to different learning contents, andas the hero’s image, the design helps children better complete the learning tasks. (4)Through the test and user experience, a specific user questionnaire isdevised, feedback information of interface design is acquired, and thedeficiency of interface design is improved.30children are invited to take part in the experience, the desired tasks arefinished, the questionnaire is filled in, children’s satisfaction of interface designare obtained, thus better interface design is instructed towards the furtherimprovements.According to the survey and application, available test and user experience,the feedback information is further summarized to constantly make correct andrefinement. This thesis focuses on user’s emotion and cognition, fusing with thetwo points as the innovations which have joined in user experience and userinterface design.Finally, having continuously improved, a website for Chinese Learning,catering to children’s cognitive and emotive characteristics, is developed.Meanwhile, an interface design method pertinent to emotional and cognitiveexperience about users is summed up.
