As the important basis and premise of the agricultural production, the quality andquantity of seed can cause direct affect to the whole agricultural sustainabledevelopment. In recent years, with the progress of the society and the increases of thecomprehensive national strength, social demand, for the seeds of high quality andhigh yield, is higher and higher. But the seed base management is mainly in a artificialmanagement way, which is only applicable to seed needs of less quantities andvarieties. What is more, this way of artificial calculation is tedious, workload is big,and the cost of seed production is high. Because of the subjectivity of managementpersonnel in the process of management, it’s easy to have a wrong calculation, whichaffects the production efficiency and quality of seeds. Therefore, it is very necessaryto establish a systematic, standardized, automatic, reliable, practical seed baseinformation management system, and the system can solve the problems in artificialmanagement way to achieve the three characteristics of "quick","accurate" and"economize". The information management system of seed base is of greatsignificance for increasing farmers’ income, agricultural security and social stability.Based on the reality of seed base management, this paper analyzes and designsthe information management system of the seed base. We designed the system byusing modular technology. Firstly, this article expounds the research background andsignificance of the information management system of seed base, which focuses ondemand analysis and describes the main business module demand and functiondemand. The main business module is made up of trade, production, procession,storage and query statistics and so on. What is more, clear system of data flowdirection is designed. Secondly, the framework of the information managementsystem and database are both designed etc. Finally, after fulfilling the function of system design, the main function interface of the system module and implementationare designed, etc.The information management system of seed base comes true mainlyinformation management, data display, export trade management, query statistics, thederived reports, statements and user management, and other functions. The systemwill save manpower, material resources, financial resources, which improves theefficiency of management and provides scientific and effective management for theseed base management. In addition, the system can make the manager timely andaccurately grasp the seed quantity and quality, and then the manager can put forwardthe corresponding cultivation and management measures for the realization of thescientific and informative seed base management, which will have a positive role inpromoting agricultural development.
