With the rapid development of the Internet, the rapid expansion of informationresources in a virtual network, how quickly and accurately finding the informationthat people need in the vast ocean of information, has been the key factors whichaffect the efficiency and quality of life.Ontology-based Semantic Web as a technical representative of the query solvesthe problem that in the past based on keyword query matches the problem ofinsufficient information. Semantic ontology query responses the abstract nature ofthings and phenomena through relationships between concepts, and it is used in manyareas by building an abstract model, the paper will make ontology-based queries beapplied to the field of smart home, make inquiries based on smart home ontologyextension method improves the accuracy of information retrieval, and meet thepeople of modern life intelligence requirements.Firstly, with introducing the ontology concepts, description language andinformation retrieval technologies summing up the problems of traditionalinformation retrieval, explain the importance of ontology in the information retrievalprocess. And then introduces a concept based on semantic similarity query expansion:query by semantic similarity analysis algorithm description and query expansionmethods, query expansion based on the concept proposed ontology semanticsimilarity and relatedness.At the same time the introduction of personalized preferences database queryexpansion is an innovative module of this article. Users can build the added elementof smart home system with hobbies habits, language, habits on the basis of thetraditional preference for library meeting the added element of smart home system. Itmakes inquiries smart home ontology model more humane and intelligent.Finally, this paper describes the construction process and query expansion moduledesign smart home ontology model and implementation process, and through three sets of experiments compare the query to verify the combination of query expansionbased on semantic similarity and query expansion based on personalizedrecommendation, not only to reflect the requirements of the smart home, intelligentrealization, but also to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the query, whichverifies the validity of the proposed query expansion method.
