With the development of the wireless business and the transformation of our social economy, radio technology and spectrum resource become more meaningful to every trade and field. There are more and more radio stations. And electromagnetic environment is becoming more and more complicated. Then, the radio interference is diverse. In order to improve the economy and development of our province and protect people’s life and properties, we have to try our best to maintain the air waves’ order. Because the area of our province is very large, the geography of our province is more complex, and the economy of our province is more unbalanced, our province’s radio monitoring network has been unable to meet the needs. In fact, some interference sources are much more difficult to eliminate than we think. So it has become very important subject for us to analyse the functionality and performance of ultra-short wave monitoring station and improve pertinence and effectiveness of infrastructure based on responsibilities and goals of ultra-short wave monitoring station.In this paper, we will clarify the function of radio monitoring and the rule of 《VHF/UHF radio monitoring the facilities construction norm and specification》. We will compare the present situation of the radio monitoring network at home and abroad. After that, we’ll analyse the performance requirements of ultra-short wave monitoring technical and the selection of monitoring receiver. We’ll present a proper design of radio monitoring network for our province, which will support our province’s radio spectrum management.
