Since the rapid development of the times and the continuous progress of technology, allof these promote the role and the status of medical imaging in clinical application. In clinicalapplication, the doctors usually diagnose the patients with medical image. However, medicalimages often enjoy relatively low contrast, large speckle noise, or some causes of equipmentproblems, which seriously affected the doctor’s diagnosis. Hence, the study of medical imageenhancement algorithm becomes particularly important. According to the characteristics ofmedical images, we do the enhancement processing which can effectively solve the problemof low contrast image, in order to make image details more clearly. In this paper, we studytwo ways of medical image enhancement processing including the methods of spatial domainand frequency domain, and then proposed a novel medical image enhancement algorithmbased on dyadic wavelet transform. The main work of this paper includes:First, we study on the theory of dyadic wavelet, and then obtain the relationships amongdyadic wavelet, discrete wavelet and continuous wavelet. Eventually, we can come to aconclusion that dyadic wavelet transform has the characteristic of translational invariance. Forits features, medical image processing filters can be constructed. So we can get morehigh-frequency details in medical images.Secondly, we research on the enhancement algorithm based on spatial domain andfrequency domain, and then do enhancement processing on spatial and frequency domain formedical images. We can obtain the corresponding experimental comparison image. Afterobserving the effect of the enhanced medical image, this paper uses a combination method ofspatial domain and frequency domain enhancement algorithms.Finally, through this combined enhancement method of spatial domain and frequencydomain, we use computer programming so as to realize this enhancement algorithm. Finally,we obtain the enhancement result of medical image, and then we compare the enhanced imagewith the algorithms based on wavelet transform and gray histogram. The experimental resultsshow that, the image after binary wavelet transform can get more detail information, in orderto better enhance processing, finally can get a better visual effect.
