Multi-arm caliper logging technology is an important method for casing detection andrepair. Each arm has independent measuring probe and sensor. So multi-arm caliper loggingtool can get plentiful information about caliper content by measuring, record the innerdiameter of casing from many different directions. However, if the measured curveinformation simply is printed on the paper, it can’t provide users visual logging resultsabout inside casing. Casing damage is one of the important problems frequently encounteredin oil field development, it caused great losses. At the same time, the artificial casing damageidentification efficiency is low, and the higher requirement on the identification of personnel.So it will need both in a good way to get rich, plenty of caliper data information in the formof intuitive3d image display, and the automatically identify of casing damage.First, this thesis discusses the current state of the development of three-dimensionvisualization technique and casing recognition technology, Based on the research of the slicereconstruction method, it can realize the two-dimensional cross-section curves andthree-dimensional models of visualization casing. Second, this paper extracts thecharacteristic properties of casing damage by analyzing the measurement data of the multiarm caliper, improving the traditional decision tree generation algorithm, realizing thedecision tree based on the improved algorithm, and completing the design of casingidentification algorithm based on decision tree. In the end, this paper realizesthree—dimension visualization of casing and the casing damage recognition system byadopting the way of combination of VC++and OpenGL programming. The systemdescribed in the casing is accurate, clear, high degree of recognition casing damage, at thesame time, the system is easy to operate.
