Steelmaking process consists a series of redox process, and in these redox reactionprocess there will be involved in the oxygen element. The oxygen content has differentrequirements in each stage, so we need a precise, reliable detection of oxygen contentand change in metallurgical process. At present, The molten steel oxygen probe isConsumed each year more than4million branch in the world. However, domesticoxygen probe has some problems, For example, its signal is volatile, unstable,and canonly be used for the measurement of high oxygen, so It relies heavily on imports. Theoxygen probe technology has become the core factors of international competition ofsteel quality. Due to the blockade of the technology in the developed countries, ourcountry must spend much money to import such oxygen probe, so the development ofmolten steel oxygen probe can improve metallurgical technology progress in China.This project focuses on preparation and processing of molten steel oxygen probe ofzirconium tube and electrode powder, using the ball milling method, co-precipitationmethod and nanometer powders to preparate electrode powder of molten steel oxygenprobe. Through the SEM, we can know he best preparation method of electrode powder,and use the model to analyze the causes of activity better.Gel-casting method was used for preparing slurry with high solid loading and lowviscosity. effects of dispersants, dispersant amout and solid loading on the viscosity ofthe slurry was studied, and successfully prepared zirconia ceramic tube with highprecision and high density.The electrode powder was made of oxygen probe which was tested In the steel mill.By comparing the signal test curve, the best method of preparing electrode powder wasknown. At the same time, through adding small amounts of iron oxide optimized thepotential peak and plateau phase, We can know the best content of iron oxide, anddiscussed The effect of electrode powder after heat treatment on signal,explaining whyhypoxia measurement was difficult.
