With the rapid proliferation of Internet and diversified development of user requirements, the deficiencies of current Internet are increasingly highlighted, For instance, the poor performance in the scalability, security, mobility, resource utilization and energy consumption etc. Therefore, it is necessary to solve the aforementioned problems, achieving the effective delivery of Internet data and the dynamic adaption of network resources.At the beginning of2014, the973Program has supported the research of "Smart Identifier Network". On the basis of studying current running state of Internet, the project proposed an original network architecture that has three layers and two realms, which helps to realize the "separation of resource and location", the "separation of control and data forwarding" and the "separation of identity and location". The architecture not only supportsfor dynamic adaptationsmarter, but also meets the communication requirements including the"high speed","efficient","massive" etc.Based on the project, this paper focuses on the design and realization of data plane. In SINE, the data plane and the control plane are not tightly coupled, but separating from each other and collaborating together. The control plane takes charge of route calculation and decision, while the data plane is responsible for the maintenance of forwarding principles and the transfer of data according to the control message.The article first analyzes the problems of current Internet and points out the importance of studying on the next generation of Internet. Then in line withrequirements, the paper design the data plane which implement the data forward based on the identifier and the objectives of data plane are1) the devices in data plane interact withcomponents in control plane, to completeconfiguration and transmission of forwarding rules;2) the forwarding components transmits data in accordance with the rules of the control plane;3) the components on the data plane maintain forwarding rules table which stores the information of SID and NID, and complete the data transfer based on it. Subsequently, it introduces code design and implementation. At last, the design is verified through testing the main functions of the data plane in the small topologies environment. Theimplement of this article laid a sound foundation for in-depth study of Smart Identifier Network.
