With the development of automotive electronics and automobile active safety, the lanedeparture warning should be more accurate, stable and efficient which contain a FPGA (FieldProgrammable Gate Array) processor,image processing technology and embeddedtechnology. This lane departure warning system can reduce the cost. The FPGA isdevelopment of the Programmable devices PAL, GAL, CPLD. The characteristics of imageprocessing are the large data and real-time. The data processing of image is according to thesystem clock one by one. But image data is very large. The Complex processing algorithmsare completed in a clock. So we often design it as assembly line. And that is exactly theFPGA’s strengths. So image processing operations will be computed on the FPGA. Thesystem complete image acquisition by CCD camera which around the Car, and detect imageedge using Sobel edge detection algorithm and implement the lane line inspection based onHough method. The system has good flexibility and extensibility, fast processing speed,strong practicability. It is easy to realize industrialization production.This System based on an automobile electronics company lane departure warningsystem in Changchun. We designed and implemented multiprocessor core which containARM and FGPA as the hardware. This is a lane departure warning system which based onembedded Linux system and image processing technology. It is based on the embedded ARMLinux3.6.0kernel as the control core of the whole system. We completed the transplantationand development of embedded Linux based on ARM Cortex-A9. The main work including:set up development environment; build a cross compiling environment; compile andtransplantation according to the particularity of this system and the hardware modify thekernel source code, realize the file system, complete the driver for the system development(focus on the can bus driver development),design and implement multiprocessor interactioncalculation. It is a play to the FPGA computing capacity in images processing technology andcomputing power of the Linux system on ARM processor. The whole system is implementedbased on multiprocessor and image processing technology.
