In recent years, with the increasing accuracy requirement of large gear for the keyequipments, as well as the rapid ascension of the technology for large gear processing, theaccuracy of large gear is greatly improved, the detection of large gear deserves more andmore attention. Portable pitch error apparatus orsemi-automatic measuringinstrument isused in traditional on-line measuring for tooth pitch of large gear. Most of these have to beoperated by professionals, with shortcomings of complex operation, poor reliability, largemeasurement error,post-data processing problems,etc.This topic mainly aimed at researching on on-line pitch deviation testing technologyfor the large gear (The diameter isgreater than500mm). Firstly this paper reviewed thedevelopment situation of gear detection technology, and then compared and analyst thepitch deviation measuring technology home and abroad, emphasize the necessity of theon-line and automation measurement.This thesis isaimed to realize the pitch deviation detection and automatic onlinemeasurement.Overall design scheme,related concept and method of pitch deviationmeasurement is studied.The hardware circuit is designed based on the ARM minimumsystem circuit.In order to ensure the accuracy of the measuring head positioning,a set ofhigh precision positioning deviceand full closed loopcontrol for motor are designed.Inorder to achieve the synchronization of the measurement process of head movement andthe measured gear running, grating sensor and the principle of prediction are used.Theinterface design of the pitch error measuring system is programmed byvirtual instrumentLABVIEW. The measurement system data acquisition, data processing, data report savedand printed is automatically achieved.Finally, the precision of positioning device reach±1μm.Measuring Pitch deviation of gear many times, repeat accuracy of pitch errormeasuring system is verified.The design of the measuring system is complished bycomparing the measured date with the result of3906,production of Harbin measuring toolfactory.It is proved that this systemdesignis correct, feasible operation.The pitch deviation online detection system designed in this paperrealized the purposeof measuring pitch deviation.Due to its simple structure and easy operation,the optimizeddesign of measurement system has certain market application prospect.
