Remote sensing image is the critical basic strategic information resource of the country and a significant part of the space infrastructure, which is of great research and practical value. The rapid development of the Internet technology provides a convenient channel for the transfer and sharing of remote sensing image, meanwhile it also brings risks to the data security. There are threats that remote sensing images are illegally intercepted or tempered in the process of transmission, storage and sharing, which has affected the secure data application directly, so that reliable technical means to authenticate the integrity of remote sensing images is urgent needed.As an important branch of digital watermarking technology, fragile watermarking technology can accurately detect the location, the amount and even the type of the data tampering, which has been a powerful means to resolve the integrity authentication problem of remote sensing image. Combined with the data features, precision characteristics and application requirements of remote sensing image data, this paper performed a systematic study and practice of the remote sensing data integrity authentication based on fragile watermarking technology. The main research results are as follows:(1) According to the essential characteristics and integrity authentication requirements of remote sensing data, the basic characteristics of remote sensing images fragile watermarking were studied and the evaluation indicator system of remote sensing images fragile watermarking was established, which lays the foundations of the design and evaluation of the authentication algorithms for remote sensing image data based on the fragile watermarking technology.(2) On the basis of the redundancy features of remote sensing images, an integrity authentication algorithm for remote sensing images using the reversible watermarking was proposed. The algorithm can accurately authenticate the integrity of remote sensing images and be able to get the original remote sensing image after it got authenticated.(3)Taking the safety requirements in the transmission and storage process into account, a reversible watermarking algorithm considering safety for remote sensing images was presented. A reversible precision reduction of remote sensing images can be realized by choosing multiple bit-planes groups, which can achieve the integrity authentication, tamper localization and complete reconstruction, meanwhile, meet the precision reduction and data security protection requirement.(4) Aiming at the content reconstruct of the tampered area requirement of integrity authentication for remote sensing images, an integrity authentication algorithm of remote sensing image based on wavelet transform was proposed. This algorithm can accurately locate the remote sensing image tampering, and distinguish the content tampering with the position change and reconstruct the video content of the tampered area, which has a good anti-splicing attack capability, and the authentication information is difficult to be forged so that the algorithm has high security.
