With the popularity of mobile Internet, multimedia teaching extends to the domain ofmobile applications. But education mobilization in the country and the world is still in itsinfancy, more researches and practices are needed. As an advanced educational disciplines,History of industrial design is always at the forefront of multimedia teaching. In order tofollow the development, as well as to popularize the history of industrial design theory, it tookthe lead in designing the mobile application.Application design and development should be user-centric. Based on three elements ofdesirability、capability、and viability, the definition of information architecture and navigationmode helps to determine the interface layout which intuitively reflects product Function. Theusability and interestingness of Apps could be improved by design of gesture and special flash,which optimize the user experience so that ensure the App may meet customer needs.In this program, the history of industrial design App acted as the object of study. Theitem was set on cooperation of Zhongyi (Hunan) Industrial Design Co., Ltd. and School ofDesign Hunan University. It was based on the book " History of Industrial Design ". Thepaper summarized and studied the design, analysis and research of entire project. Base on theunderstanding of characteristics and trend of the App design, in the early period, compare ofrelevant Apps has been analyzed. The main aspects included objects, forms, informationarchitecture, navigation patterns, interaction, visual design. Then the information architecture,navigation mode, interactive, visual sense, flash of App was designed on the basis ofpositioning. At last, a good design was selected to complete the final development fromseveral precepts.Innovation of the design is that it is more than a simple e-books. To adapting to thecharacteristics of mobile reading called time fragmentation, the App sort and reorganized theknowledge into lots of fragmentation and tagged them so that users can search them faster.The App with more flexible, interesting and personalized learning methods meets thecontemporary learning needs and habits well. The App launched an in-depth study andexploration of content and information structure for educational applications and completedthe final design, which will promoting the popularization of the theory and make a certainsignificance in the field of mobile education.
