The development of equipment manufacturing industry places higher requirementon quality control. The Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM), as a kind of highprecision measuring instrument, has played an important part in quality control. Thedemand for the intelligent measuring machine that has a high automation degree inmanufacturing industry is growing. The inspection planning technology, as the importantindicator of intelligence of CMM, is of a far-reaching significance. In this thesis, theModel-based Definition(MBD) technology and Theory of Polychromatic Sets are appliedinto inspection planning on the basis of studying on inspection planning to improve theintelligent degree of CMM, so that the related technology of domestic intelligentcoordinate measurement could be promoted.The related technology of inspection planning, which includes probe planning,sampling planning and path planning, was modeled by Theory of Polychromatic Setscombining with new-generation Geometrical Product Standard(GPS) under MBD model,then the planning result could be got by the logical inference. Firstly, the relation ofinspection information was modeled by layered structural model of Polychromatic Sets,and the measured targets were decided by the logical inference based on the extractedinspection information from MBD model combining with the related technology of thenew-generation GPS. Secondly, during the probe planning, the contour Boolean matrix ofprobe selection and probe accessibility analysis were established,then the type and angleof probe were inferred by Polychromatic Sets based on the related information aboutinspection items. Newly, the sampling solution was modeled by contour Boolean matrixbased on the relation model of part inspection information during the sampling planning,then the sampling solution was decided by logical inference. Finally, during the pathplanning, the constraint model was established by Boolean matrix. With the commonconstraints in this model and the planning rules, the path was optimized by Ant ColonyAlgorithm.The inspection planning system was developed by Visual C++6.0under UG NX8.0.The related modules, which include probe planning module, sampling planning moduleand path planning module, were verified using the selected practice part, and thesampling distribution and final optimized path are shown in the MBD model, all theabove study has the guiding significance to the development of intelligent CMM.
