High speed ultra-long haul optical transmission is a key technology in optical communication. Through the study of the high speed long-haul optical transmission technology, the problem of high speed and band in the future Internet can be solved. Due to the reduction in the optical/electrical conversion frequency, and the use of the fiber rich bandwidth resource, long-haul transmission technology has greatly reduced the cost of long distance transmission, at the same time, the reliability and transmission quality of the system are ensured.Based on theoretical analysis of new key technologies in the ultra long-haul unrepeatered optical transmission system, the focal point research in the paper is Remote optically pumped amplifier technology. The specific work is as follows:(1) The structure and application of ROPA system as well as the principle characteristics of remote gain unit RGU and remote pump unit RPU are discussed. Using the O ASIX software, the optimal structure of RGU is simulated under different signal and the pump power, and through experiments the correctness of simulation results are verified. Optimal pump power of RPU in different transmission modes are obtained by experiment test.(2) Througth the theoretical analysis and experimental test of RGU in different ROPA system, the best RGU position is obtained in the bypass way, the same way as well as the prefix and suffix form.While the optimum signal wavelength is studied theoretically and simulated, optimal signal wavelength in the ROPA system has been obtained.(3) ROPA system platform is made by Matlab GUI, the platform can change different system parameters in practical engineering application of ROPA system, it can quickly design the optimal ROPA system structure and at the same time calculate the optical power of various reference points, the platform is helpful for system design research. The software is convenient, greatly reduce the workload of ROPA system design and improve the reliability and application ability of the ROPA system engineering design.(4) The2.5Gbit/s and lOGbit/s rate experiments in SMF-28fiber with nine different system structure in ultra long-haul optical transmission system have been completed. Through the experiments of the ROPA system with different structure and dispersion compensation, correctness of theoretical analysis is verified, at the same time optimal configuration in the different system structure are obtained.The paper theoretically analysises and simulates the ultra long-haul optical transmission system with ROPA technology, and verifies the correctness and the reliability of the theoretical analysis through concrete experiment, a variety of long-haul optical transmission system solutions are put forward, the design have a certain reference value for the future experimental study and engineering application in ROPA system.
