Nowadays, heart disease is one of the most troublesome diseases to human kind.Because heart disease has characteristics of lurk and urgency, the operation mechanismof the heart and the reasons for heart disease become research hotpots. The computer isthe important tool for heart study. The key work of computer aided heart study is heartsimulation, which includes the normal heart simulation and the abnormal heartsimulation. However, a precise three-dimensional anatomical model is crucial for heartsimulations at every level. Therefore, this paper studies the method of constructing a whole precise heartgeometric model based on labeled medical images. According to the key technologies ofthree-dimensional heart modeling, this paper proposes the schemes for extracting contourwith complex topology and constructing whole three-dimensional heart model. Firstly, this paper studies the most popular geometric modeling methods: the marching cubesmethod and the reconstruction method based on contour lines, and then analyzes thestrengths and weaknesses of the two methods. Secondly, based on the characters oflabeled heart medical images data set, this paper proposes a solution of extractingcontours which are based on B-spline curve fitting technology. This solution can providerepresentation of vectorization for labeled heart medical images’ contours with complextopology. Afterwards, this paper proposes a solution to slove the ambiguity from contoursand the noisy from labeled medical images data set. What’s more, the proposed schemescan convert the complex multi-material three-dimensional reconstruction problems intothe bi-material three-dimensional heart modeling problems based on parallel processingframework. Meanwhile, during the model generation process, this paper also adoptsflexible sampling methods, which are the sampling among contour lines based onhistogram similarity and the sampling among points of contour lines based on curvature. The sampled points are the constraint of mesh optimization of initial three-dimensionalheart model, which improves the accuracy of final three-dimensional heart model. Finally, this paper shows the results of tetrahedron mesh generation experiments for heart model.
