Hitting catharsis is the primary method of psychological catharsis therapy, which ishelpful to resolve adverse emotion and relieve psychological stress. However, Physicalhitting vented system in Psychological catharsis room, because of the disadvantage ofsingle vented scene, single hit object and object damaged easily and so on, has a seriousinfluence on the therapeutic effect of physical hitting catharsis. For this problem, based onthe method of somatosensory interaction technology and virtual reality, a virtualpsychological catharsis system is designed and implemented in this article. This systemuses Kinect sensor to collect coordinates of the joints of human body, to control the virtualfist to beat the virtual hit objects and to simulate the real process of hitting catharsis, so asto achieve psychological catharsis therapy and solve the problems existing in currentphysical hitting catharsis. In addition, a file management system about the vented person isestablished by MySQL database in order to facilitating the data statistics and analysis in theprocess of the vented treatment.The virtual catharsis system designed in this article mainly consists of threesubsystems: motion-tracked subsystem, virtual interaction subsystem and file managementsubsystem. In the motion-tracked subsystem, the coordinates of the skeletal joints can begotten by skeletal tracking of Kinect somatosensory sensor and bound to virtual fist aftercoordinate conversion. The algorithm of virtual fist gesture following is designed toimplement that the position and rotation of human hand is followed, thereby controlling thevirtual fists to complete hitting action. In the process of catharsis, the hitting target area isset and the algorithm of hitting target is designed to determine whether hitting object is hitby virtual fist. The mode of how impact force is counted by the impulse theorem, isdesigned to calculate the speed and impact force when the target is hit. The algorithm ofhow the hit object responds according to the speed and the impact force, is set to gripe theresponding action of hitting object and make the real effect virtual. In the virtualinteraction subsystem,3DS Max, three-dimensional graphics rendering software is used to model and render texture of virtual fists and hit objects. Based on Direct3D-graphicsrendering programming interface,three-dimensional model is loaded. At the same time,vent scenes and interactive interface is created and rendered. As a result, a platform ofvirtual catharsis is set up. On the platform, switch of systemic interface and the setting ofsystemic function is completely operated by Somatosensory sensor. In addition, a filemanagement system is developed to record some information about vented person, andhelp the psychologist to count and analyse relevant data in the process of treatment, and toput forward reasonable treatment scheme.A large number of test and analysis shows thatthis system can achieve the funciton of psychological catharsis, and improve the ventedeffect.
