Multimedia social networks (MMSNs) have emerged as one of the most convenient way of online sharing of multimedia contents such as images, videos, audio, etc. That makes the exchange and dissemination of informations between people easier and faster, but there are also a large number of privacy leaks, copyright disputes and other security issues which bring serious problems to internet. To address these security problems, access control mechanism provides a method to selectively sharing multimedia contents in the MMSNs. Access control mechanism can determine who can access what resources and how to use these resources. However, the existing access control models can not meet the needs of the emerging internet applications. Therefore, this paper focuses on the secure broadcast of digital contents for multimedia social networking scenarios:(1) An access control model for MMSNs which is based on users’ major social relationships, such as relationship type, compactness, content sharing depth and trust is proposed, and the formal descriptions and access control rules of the new model are gave. By the self-defined security rules and their security policies conflict elimination, the model effectively solves the security problem of access control and sharing dissemination on digital media, and it would apply to digital right management applications. Finally, the paper shows an application example, and makes comparative analysis to the existing typical access control policies from the functional and safety aspects, which shows the effectiveness and advancement of this model.(2)The choice of security policies based on the formalized definitions of security policy utilities, in multimedia digital contents acquisition scenario, was described as a two-player mixed strategy game referred to contents provider, and contents requester, and the formal description and analysis was gave. Also, in term of the utilities of security policies combinations and benefit effects on participants, we further gained the game’s mixed strategy Nash equilibrium, thus establishing and strengthening the two-party trust. In the last, the paper shows an application example, and makes comparative analysis to the existing security game models from the safety and advancement aspects. Finally, based on the proposed multimedia social network access control theoretical model, we designed and implemented a complete multimedia social networking platform prototype system. Through testing and analysis, the system satisfies the access control requirements of social networking in general, and allows a user make friends, preview, upload, download and share digital contents. Users can set the digital contents’ access control permissions. The system operates normally, and tests well. The paper has important significance on application theory of foundations in realizing the digital contents safe and controllable dissemination for Multimedia Social Network, while it has great application prospects and values on multimedia platform establishment as well as healthy and benign industry progress.
