The highway operation and management is a comprehensive systems engineering. Theelectromechanical system of expressway is a technology platform to meet the specific needs of the operation and management. In order to improve the efficiency of the highway and guarantee people safe, this dissertation studies the upgrading of old electromechanical system station.It first gives the design objective, design principle and design scheme, especially focuson the system design and construction scheme of ETC toll system and automatic license platerecognition. Secondly, it adopts the radio frequency identification and no stop electronic tollcollection system. Its functions will be divided into automatic identification control subsystem,automatic judgment subsystem, data acquisition subsystem, vehicle detection subsystem, closed-circuit television system and signal control subsystem etc.. It discusses the working principle and working process of ETC system and RF automatic recognition without parking systemand information board and wireless transmission system. Finally, it elaborates the selection and implementation of ETC scheme.Finally, the actual tests shows the upgrading of electromechanical system achieves the effects: solve the queuing traffic jam phenomenon caused by manual toll collection, recover expressway‘s high speed; save the investment and operating cost; achieve more energy-saving and environmental protection. The results prove the proposed upgrading program is scientific,correct, precise, effective, and it has a high practical value.
