Automatic screws fastening equipment is used widely in toys,electronics, plastics, autoparts, communications equipment, household appliances and other manufacturing industriesbecause of the high assembly efficiency and low cost. But currently its require highpositioning accuracy for workpiece, Operation that input workpiece’s threaded holecoordinate information is tedious.Its can’t self-calibration position deviation caused byworkpiece’s localization,which can complete the work efficiently for workpiece that havesimple shapes,threaded holes have a small number and evenly distributed.But workpiece thatcan’t positioning accuracy, threaded holes are not evenly distributed,The equipment can’tcomplete work stably and efficiently. Hence, In order to improve the efficiency and accuracyof complex workpiece’s screw fastening, The paper designed and developed automaticscrews fastening equipment based on machine vision and analysed high-precision positioningmethods for threaded hole, This paper specifically work as follows:(1) Studied the craft and theory of screws fastening, getting the requirement of screwsfastening precision. while on the basis of technical requirements, developed the structure andcontrol systems based on modular design idea, Detailed design the mechanical structure andhardware control system of the module of screws fastening and automatic feeding.(2) In order to ensure accuracy and stability of vision system collected the threaded holecoordinate information. Analyzing the mechanism of those errors using Hexsight imageprocessing software,The bias compensation algorithm based on vision position which will selfcalibrate screw holes’ position deviation was proposed.It used traditional genetic algorithmand improved genetic algorithm to optimize screws fastening path to increase the efficiency ofscrews fastening. Also proposed automatic positioning zoning based on machine vision,which realized collection of threaded hole information online and high-precision screwsfastening for different workpiece.(3) Developed automatic screws fastening software control system and interactiveinterface based on object-oriented programming language and multi-threading technology,which realized the control ofautomatic screws fastening equipment simple and efficient.(4) Tested and verified reliability and location method’s efficiency and accuracy of automatic screws fastening equipment based on experiments in two different specifications ofthe workpiece.
