Nowadays Internet is inextricably interwoven with our daily life, we have toreceive a lot of information every day. How to make us understand information moreeffectively is the subject we concern about in the era of information overload.Information visualization represent abstract information with visual elements andmake it easier to convey the meanings of information. In Internet age informationcan be transmitted rapidly, infographic build based on information visualizationtheories and patterns has great power of propagation because of its abilities to makeinformation been understood more easily and clearly. But static infographic hasinsufficiencies like it can only provide limited amount of contents according to itssize and not able to represent dynamic contents. In order to improve infographic, wecan combine it with rich internet application technologies like html5and css3, wecan also use hyper-text and AJAX to provide contents at a cracking pace.This thesis analyzed the characteristics of static infographic and interactiveinfographic, show the advantages of interactive infographic. Thesis mainlyresearched on the design and development methods of interactive infographic.Design method is based on static infographic design methods and principles,combined with the general process of internet application design. In developmentresearch we mainly discussed how to merge online public API resources with ourprojects for building mashup interactive infographic application, how to manage APIkeys with PHP/MYSQL based system. Thesis also explored a way on how to query,fetch, filter, reorganize and store the information retrieved from public API resources,then we discussed how to utilize RIA technologies like HTML5, CSS3for buildingour presentation interfaces.
