Nowadays, more and more information is booming while information dimensions and organizations seem to be even complicated. Along with increase of data, knowledge and useful trend immerges in the mass of data. People have to acquire and find useful information to make better choice, this is the only way to survive in fierce competition. Information should be understandable, while complicated data organization and inappropriate representation hinders human comprehension. Then, information visualization comes out just in time and plays a more and more important rule in social life. As information grows intensively, information visualization will have a brand new future with a rapid growth of hardware capability and Internet technology.Information visualization answers questions like how knowledge will be managed and classified. Reasonable methods are needed. Making effective use of the 2D space and hardware capability, as well as human perception comes to be core issue.Clustered information has similar properties in some aspects and has a better organization. Flex is born for information visualization. It has powerful components of various categories. XML, as extendable markup language, has elegant and legible organizations. And Flex can handle XML in an effective and convenient way. In our study, we combine the two and propose newfangled visual representations on clustered information.Firstly we did researches on basic visual elements and interaction factors, followed by a discussion on a few representative visual techniques. Then, based on our special XML files, we proposed four information visualization techniques: tree map, scatter chart, parallel coordinate chart and radar chart. Our representations both worked well for discrete and continuous variables. Hierarchically or non-hierarchically organized information was mapped to corresponding coordinates. Our approach has elegant interface and miscellaneous interactions, which facilitate human understanding of information.
