Ultrasonic phased array technology is a research hotspot in NDT field at present,and has beenwildly used in aspects of industrial nondestructive testing due to the main characteristics, such asflexibility, reliable defect detection, imaging etc. This paper aims to research on the algorithm oftransmitting focusing and receiving imaging. Besides, propose a design of ultrasonic phased arraysoftware system based on Linux&Qt. The main works are as follows:In-depth studied the principles of sound filed of ultrasonic phased array technology, discussedthe influence of parameters on sound filed, and gave the beam pattern of the linear array probe usedin this system.A calculation method of transmitting time delay and receiving time delay is given. Studied abeamforming algorithm based on quadrature envelope detector technology. This algorithm can extractdefect information from the envelope of RF waveform in baseband, so it has lower sampling rate andstorage requirement, besides it has improved anti-noise performance than the traditional algorithm.A virtual array ultrasonic imaging method is proposed. This method needs no transmittingfocusing, avoids the requirements of high-precision delay, reduces the difficulty of implementation,and also has a relatively high detection resolution.A design of ultrasonic phased array software system is proposed, in which object-oriented designideas are taken to design the system functions. The system is working properly and has achievedsector scan imaging and virtual array ultrasonic imaging.
