On The Three-dimension Transformation Of Pragmatic Text Under Eco-translatology

Pragmatic text is the functional text that used for communication in daily life, themost significant function of it is information delivery, for that, pragmatic texttranslation is the mainstream translation of the information era. As a result, more andmore scholars focus on the research on its relative translation strategies, however,without any difficulty, most of the existing methods which have involved in pragmatictext translation are single and traditional ones, or some mature and well-knowntranslation theories, such as: functional equivalence theory; relevance theory(Katharine Reiss’s or Newmark’s) etc. Nevertheless， all of the researches onpragmatic text translation that based on above theories are nearly saturated, but thereare several problems are unsettled which required translators to seek brand-newtheoretical basis and translation strategies.The Eco-translatology, as the theoretical basis of this dissertation, was putforward by Professor Hu Gengshen and developed for ten years. It is a newperspective of translation which combined the ecology with translatology as well asan ecology-oriented translation research with ecological perspective. TheEco-translatology offer a brand-new direction for translation, using the ecologyprinciple-“the survival of the fittest” as the core concept, translators could do thetranslation activities from the macroscopic angle. To be specific, Eco-translatology isan ecological approach to translation studies,(Hu Gengshen,2008:114) whichemphasis on the ecological integrity of translation, interpret the translation processfrom the angle of translational eco-environment and describe the relationship betweentranslators and translational eco-environment). The theory regarded the translation ascyclical alternations of the translator’s adaptation and selection. In this essay, themethod of the Eco-translatology will be applied-“Three-dimension transformation”:adaptive selection in language, cultural, communicative dimension.The dissertation is consisting of following parts: the research background, aim,significance as well as the framework of this essay is introduced by the first threechapters, in which the previous studies are summarized, and those relative studiesturned out that the researches on pragmatic texts from the respective ofEco-translatology are in a shortage which can clarify the feasibility of this dissertation; meanwhile, the basic theory of the essay is introduced in detail, including the coreconcept of Eco-translatology, the definition, features and classification of pragmatictext. The most significant part is the chapter5, in that part, author will give the mosttypical examples of pragmatic texts as well as analyzing the relative translationaleco-environment, then get the best translation by some traditional translation methodslike: literal translation; free translation and omission under the guidance ofthree-dimension transformation. As the conclusion: The translator give full play to thetranslators’ subjectivity to make the multidimensional adaptive selection on differentlevels and aspects under the guidance of three-dimension transformation, at last, thebest translation of highest degree of holistic adaptation and selection can be obtained.
