As one of the key technologies of modem manufacturing, CNC technology ismoving quickly in the direction of high speed and high-precision. Wood carving andmilling technology is rapidly developing in the huge demand of CNC machining art,and it is a technology with huge market potential. High speed and high precision is themost significant trend for Wood carving and milling CNC system, and the acceleration/deceleration control algorithm is an important mean to achieve this goal. So, it issignificant to control the system flexibly by using the acceleration/deceleration controlalgorithm. After reading a large number of correlative reference at home and abroad, thetraditional acceleration/deceleration control methods and their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages are analyzed and summarized. In order to reduce theshock and vibration of CNC machining tool, and achieve high precision and fasterprocessing speed, two improved algorithm are raised, which are Flexible S-typeacceleration/deceleration control algorithm with five sections and improved S-typeacceleration/deceleration control algorithm with seven segments. Its innovation ideasare as follows: optimal algorithm to calculate round-corner velocity, the maximum jerklimit, flexible S-type acceleration/deceleration control model with five sections, improved S-type acceleration/deceleration control algorithm with seven segments andthe thoughts of automatic acceleration/deceleration control. In the use of MATLAB software, the two proposed algorithm are simulated.Experimental result shows that Flexible S-type acceleration/deceleration control modelwith five sections can shorten the processing time effectively and improve processingefficiency of workpiece. In addition, the improved S-type acceleration/decelerationcontrol algorithm with seven segments can get smoother velocity curve and it canimprove the precision of workpiece in the greater extent. Combined with the thoughts ofautomatic acceleration/deceleration control, two improved algorithm can help to achievea more flexible CNC system.
