Education Cloud Workspace is in view of the education industry; provides highercapacity and performance of virtual desktop service, and integration of computingresources management, system monitoring and auditing function of education cloudall-in-one solutions. Education cloud workshop provides education institutions withflexible and autonomic cloud workshop technology. The real-time monitoring on educationcloud workshop is the key to ensuring the quality of services from education cloudworkshop. Monitoring system deals with collecting monitoring data from nodes, providingthe self definition and functional visual monitoring, so that it can effectively help thesystem administrators focus on the overall exceptions in the cloud workshop at the firsttime. Meanwhile, the principle of design and develop educational workplace monitoringsystem is that it should cost low system load and realize an efficient intelligent monitoringservices, as well as avoid disrupting from other services in the Education CloudWorkspace.Traditionally, cloud monitoring systems generally have the following problems: lowdegree of monitoring automation, monitoring data redundancy, user-unfriendly monitoringoperations, lack of user custom monitoring functions and providing unstable monitoringservices. According to these above problems, this paper designed and implemented amonitoring system for education cloud workshop, using the latest cloud monitoringtechnology, which contains a real-time monitoring of physical clusters and virtualclassrooms, providing a collection of system running logs and exception event alertingfunction. The system ultimately achieved a goal which implemented a comprehensive and intelligent monitoring on Education Cloud Workspace.The innovation of this paper is to purpose a hierarchical service monitoringmechanism and combined with initiative pushing and polling return mode of monitoringcommunication model:1) A hierarchical service monitoring mechanism refers to generatemonitoring strategy according to the relationship between different monitoring objects,which comes to the personalized monitoring on system service and objects;2) Accordingto the characteristics of the monitoring objects, combined with initiative pushing andpolling return mode of monitoring communication model can reduce the burden ofcommunication between the monitoring center and nodes, lower the data redundancy andimprove the monitoring efficiency, meanwhile monitoring visualization demonstrates auser-friendly and intuitive display result, cooperating with exception event alertingfunction, which will meet the demand of diversification from surveillance of EducationCloud Workspace.At present, the system through tests has been successfully deployed in the schoolexperimental center. The practicing operation results show that the system has realized acomprehensive and efficient monitoring as well as running in an ideal condition, whichproves a promising practical value.
