With the rapid development of electronic information technology, embedded devices are applied to more and more areas. The ARM processor for embedded system represents a new generation of high-end technology level, which is the future development direction.This thesis mainly studies the robot hand intelligent terminal system based on ARM9, which used AT91RM9200processor series of ARM9as the microprocessor and adopted the touch screen as the main input device. In software, the system chose powerful open-source Linux system as its operating system, applied Qt4programming tools based on C++language to develop the graphical interfaces with a good interaction function, and through the serial port to control the stability of data transmission so as to realize the control for industrial robot terminal. In view of a new generation of embedded system requiring on network and informatization, this system used the Wifi module to connect to the Internet to realize the function of remote video monitoring.(a) The conception, structure and characteristics of embedded system are briefly analyzed, then based on this, the composition and characteristics of the embedded Linux system and ARM platform are introduced.(b) The hardware platform overall design of the intelligent terminal system is introduced, the choice criterion of microprocessor and all kinds of chip peripheral circuit design are expounded.(c) The software platform of this system is established. The source code of U-boot is rewritten according to the characteristics of AT91RM9200processor, U-Boot modifications and transplantation are completed. The cutting and transplantation on Linux2.6kernel is completed according to this system functional requirements. The programming of touch-screen driver and USB keyboard driver, the generation of root file system are completed.(d) The Qt4library files are cut and transplanted, the touch-screen supporting and key processing are added in it. Chinese display interface is realized. The Qt development tools are used to program human-computer interaction interface of this system. Soft keyboard program is programmed. This thesis describes nine function modules and three programming mode of the intelligent terminal system detailedly and focuses on introducing the remote video monitoring based on wireless network.(e) All editing files will be cured in ARM9target board to experiment test on functions of each parts, and then the experimental results are analyzed. Thus the whole design process from hardware to software is completed.
