As micro/nano era is coming, it has been becoming higher and higher for the accuracy ofmeasurement. Micro-deformation is a big focus in the world and is significance in basicscientific research, practical application, technology innovation and so on to study theaccurate measurement of the tiny distortion under external environment.Undergraduate course topic is based on the research program of Beijing Satellitemanufacturer-“Research on the micro-deformation measurement of precision benchmarksub-structure”. The measured object is structure pipes in a spacecraft platform and t-he main mission is to study the small deformation of a pipe with temperature load.So as to satisfy the requirements, it makes use of the measuring system which is made upof Fiber-optic displacement sensor, PID controlling temperature device and the self-designsoftware, etc. With the range among the room temperature to50℃, the pipe is heated orcooled by5℃. Meantime it carries on the real-time control with thermocouple in order toachieve accurate temperature measurement. For ensuring the accuracy and reliability, thefactors which have certain effect on the accuracy including the measuring equipment, heatingrate, temperature gradient and sensor, etc. are preceded by the uncertainty analysis andevaluation. Multiple repetitive tests are also carried on in various temperatures for ensuringthe duplication and reproducibility of the results as well as verify the reliability of the system.Through the research, a set of measuring system has been formed, which is base-d on the Fiber-optic displacement sensor and the temperature load, used to measure t-he small distortion namely the coefficient of thermal expansion. Implementing the orthogonal experiment on the pipes, it overcomes the micro-deformation measurement ofthe high precision in width temperature range. It will be widely used to solve problems of high precision measurement for tiny deformation.
